The Historical Phoenix Archaeology Association was established on May 24, 2024, in the village of Taşlıca, located in the Marmaris district of Muğla province, under the patronage of the Kayhan Family and with Söktaş A.Ş. as the main sponsor. Its purpose is to support the multidisciplinary scientific research conducted within the scope of the Phoenix Archaeology Project (PAP) in and around the ancient city of Phoenix, to ensure that the archaeological sites identified and to be identified in the region are granted 'protected site' status, and to contribute to the preservation of cultural assets.
Vision
The Historical Phoenix Archaeology Association aims to preserve the unique cultural and natural heritage of the ancient city of Phoenix and its surroundings, to uncover it through scientific research, and to pass it on to future generations in a sustainable way.
Mission
Our mission is to research the rural cultural heritage of the ancient city of Phoenix and the village of Taşlıca using ethical values and scientific methods, and to preserve and pass it on to future generations with the participation of the local community. Through archaeological studies and interdisciplinary projects, the historical fabric of the region is being uncovered, and this awareness is instilled in children at an early age through educational programs. Additionally, exploring Taşlıca's historical connection with Phoenix and conveying it to communities is also an important part of our mission.
